Why Vegan?
In the three years since Marrowbone’s inception we've received an increasing number of requests for a vegan alternative.
We’ve been working hard to find a solution that meets the need for both a vegan product and an environmentally conscious one that matches if not out performs leather in durability, look and feel.
After much research and testing we are thrilled to share the release of Marrowbone Vegan - A Bamboo alternative.
Sustainability & The Environment
For us a vegan solution is more than just offering an animal free alternative.
Bio-based leathers from plants and plant waste are made from renewable sources and also reduce the impact of production on the environment.
Bamboo cultivation requires no chemicals and uses very little water. It absorbs more CO2 than other trees and grows quickly making it a highly sustainable resource.
But is it as good as real leather?

We believe our plant based alternative rivals animal leather in durability, appearance and how it feels to touch. And it makes us feel good too!
Produced from bamboo fibres which are known for their strength this vegan alternative offers a soft and supple feel while still providing the long-lasting quality you expect from a premium handbag. A texture that mimics the look of leather which is smooth to touch yet has a natural grained appearance.
